Local author wins accolade for children's book


PRESS RELEASE


Henderson author Catherine Green recently won a best of Texas book award for her children's title, "The Popcorn Tree," featured during the Texas Association of Authors July 28 Celebration of Authors Gala in Dallas.


It was the sixth annual contest for the largest collection of Texas authors.


"Readers of the exceptional titles selected for Texas Association of Authors (TxAuthors) Best Book Awards would agree that they are winning reads and top-tier selections in their categories," the group announced in a press release. "By any measure, the distinguished books from this year's 48 winners are of stellar quality. Readers will love to fall into the pages and climb out with the greatest of satisfaction."

Each award-winning authors books were on display and for sale during the weekend event.

Local author wins Best of Texas Books

Catherine Green was a recent winner in the Best of Texas Books awarded during its sixth annual contest July 28-29 in Dallas for her first book “The Popcorn Tree.”  “When I received the congratulations letter this past spring, I couldn’t believe it,” said Green. “I asked ‘if there are any other entires?’ I was shocked to say the least.” 

Readers of the exceptional titles selected for Texas Association of Authors (TxAuthors) Best Book Awards, would agree that they are winning reads and top-tier selections in their categories. By any measure, the distinguished books from this year’s 48 winners are of stellar quality.  Readers will love to fall into the pages and climb out with the greatest of satisfaction.  Green said her book inspiration was simply a story she told her daughter.  

This is the sixth year for TxAuthors to select winning titles by Texas Authors. A sample chapter from each winning book can be found, along with the previous year’s winners.
